Your immune system is like an army that is always on guard to protect the body from attack. It is the entire body's strongest and the most efficient process of self-defense. Responsible for determining everything that is foreign and fighting off bacteria, germs, viruses and dangerous toxins; your immune system needs to work much harder to address illness while we are sick or possibly have a weakened immune system.

The immune system is just that - a system, not a single entity. This intricate system is composed of cells, organs, tissues, and molecules that guard the body from disease not to mention harmful chemicals. An accumulation of billions of cells traveling within the bloodstream, this system is very well organized and targeted in its functions. It is supposed to guard the entire body from foreign infections and abnormal cells or cancer itself.

Researchers still don’t fully understand the intricacies and also interconnectedness of your disease fighting capability. Specially designed to help reduce the actual stages controlled by attackers and expand the phases under preventative control, this complex framework in our body helps you to build and sustain all around health and wellness. This is the most important factor that provides you with prevention towards illness.

Disorders of your immune system could lead to autoimmune diseases, allergic disorders, inflammatory diseases, and cancer. There are two types of deficiency, when the body's defence mechanism is less active than normal creating recurring and life threatening infections, and when the body's immune system is hyperactive where it attacks normal tissue as if they were foreign organisms. Some contributing factors are genetic, however most are environmental.

There are two forms of immunity, innate and adaptive. Innate immunity is what we have been born with, a type of general protection. Adaptive immunity developes throughout our lives. In order for our bodies to have the best opportunity at battling disease both acute and chronic, we have to make choices in two major areas. The first being the toxic load we put on our bodies on a regular basis and subsequently, the nutrients we give our bodies to repair and heal itself.
